About the work
In the heart of bernese alps, a spectacle unfolds. It's springtime here, when violent winds have just ravaged the snow-covered summits . That day, fate smiled on me. The scene I'd been imagining for years finally unfolded. The clouds were still tearing and dancing with the mountain. Observe the play of light and shadow. The silvery hues bring softness to this gigantic summit . Contemplate the beauty of the ridge. It slices the photograph in two, from the Klein Schreckhorn via the Nassihorn to summit du Schreckhorn.
In this masterly portrait, the mountain seems impossible to reach. Capturing the unattainable is what drives my art. Looking at the mood of this mountain, dreaming of its future ascent remains our only opportunity. When I look at this photograph, I see abstract forms. How do you imagine the continuity of this mythical summit ? Are we really in the Alps? The sheer size and scope of the mountain suggests a journey to the heart of the Himalayas. In this interplay of shapes, I lose myself to discover new horizons.
