About the work
Sumptuous Matterhorn that rises from the clouds like a celestial pyramid. The photograph highlights the north face of this summit emblematic of the Valais Alps. In my eyes, the most beautiful mountain in the world. The ridges of the Hörnli, on the left, and of Zmutt, on the right, draw its royal and vertiginous silhouette. They both dominate the Matterhorn glacier, whose clouds hide its edges, inviting us to believe it is infinite. Our eyes are captivated by the fabulous brilliance of this north face while the Lion's Ridge, lurking in the shadows, waits for its time.
I really like this photograph of the Matterhorn. It was taken in 2022, although the Matterhorn had already been a central part of my art for 14 years. But the mountain never ceases to surprise me. Each time we meet, it offers me a new facet of itself. Capturing its portrait and revealing its soul is a quest that can never end. The novelty is born from a detail, an angle of view, a play of light, the shine of the snow or the intensity of the clouds. Beauty bursts forth from a spark and each of my eyes sees it differently.
Through this striking portrait, I wanted to highlight the presence of the Matterhorn, which makes me dream so much. And, pay attention, the work is alive! By the dynamics of its lines and the play of materials of course. But it also evolves according to the angle from which we observe it. From the left, we discover its most famous profile, visible from the valley of Zermatt. From the right, it looks like it can be seen from val d’Anniviers. This timeless work guides us to a world of grandeur and purity.

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours. We were bowled over!
My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
