Tödi
The Giant of Eternal Ice
About the work
I took this magnificent black-and-white photograph of the Tödi after a storm. Hoping that the snow would purify the atmosphere and clear the horizon. Waiting for the sun's rays to illuminate summits and for the mist to roll into the valleys. Only then could I immortalize this grandiose panorama. Playing with depth to bring a regal dimension to the picture. With this work, I invite you to travel to the heart of the immensity of the Alps. Let your gaze wander through the succession of shots. From peak to peak, on a stream of clouds. Contemplate the fabulous details revealed by this large-format work. The texture of the snow, the lines of the rocks. Admire the reliefs revealed by light and shadow. Venture up to the highest mountains of bernese alps, which carve the sky with their sharp ridges. 85 km separate the Tödi from the Aletschhorn, which can be seen on the horizon. A marvellous odyssey in honour of the Tödi.
