Tour Noir - Aiguille de l'A Neuve
Le Spectacle des summits since Verbier
About the work
The photograph was taken on a winter's morning, when a storm had just plastered summits with a thick blanket of snow. It is the fruit of a graphic search . The sharp lines of the ridges nourish the texture of the picture and structure the narrative. The audacity of the viewer who, with a simple glance, climbs summits to reach the sky. I love the contrast created by the first rays of sunlight. For me, it's a symbol of the high mountains. The embodiment of what I experience up there, alone in the face of nature's pure and sublime creations. It's also the emblem of what it's like to climb high summits. Oscillating ardently between heat and cold, enthusiasm and doubt, pleasure and fear. Light and shadow in the image of life, intense and overwhelming.
