Fiescherhörner
Ethereal show
About the work
I wasn't very familiar with the Walliser Fiescherhörner massif. These mountains rise to an altitude of less than 4,000 metres and are difficult to access. That winter morning, when I went up to the Sphinx observatory on the Jungfraujoch, I didn't think I'd be able to take their portrait. But when I saw the summits peaking above the clouds, dealing a fatal blow to the stormy winds, my gaze changed. When I saw the mountains battling the clouds and the wind, brandishing their sharp crests skywards, I knew I was in for an exceptional spectacle. Illuminated by the sun, the mountains revealed their incredible beauty. I captured that precious moment when nature reveals its power and infinite grandeur.
Photography is timeless and almost abstract. Our gaze wanders over summits . A perfect harmony of impressive shapes, guiding us into another world. In the background, the Grosses and Kleines Wannenhorn, like two foghorns, echo the Chamm and Fiescher Gabelhorn emerging in the foreground. And if we lend an ear, perhaps we can hear them speak to us of the supreme force of a nature in the face of which we are nothing.
