Weisshorn
Vertiginous Ice Pyramid
About the work
Although it is linked to Bishorn and Schalihorn, I wanted to photograph it on its own. The Weisshorn, lord of the Alps, unique and grandiose. Edward Whymper, the first mountaineer to conquer the Matterhorn, said that the Weisshorn was even more beautiful. As a lover of the Matterhorn myself, I sometimes think so too. I admire the Weisshorn as the most beautiful mountain in the Alps. And to pay homage to it in my work.
At the dawn of early summer, the Weisshorn appears in majesty, clad in a thick white coat, enthroned beyond the clouds. In defiance of the sky, it urges us to surpass ourselves. To free ourselves from our chains and travel the world, to realize our dreams beyond the impossible. The rising sun illuminates its corridors, shapes its contours, reveals its features. The clarity of the snow magnifies its rock. I like to contemplate the mountain in this way, constantly discovering new details, unsuspected treasures. To lose my gaze and find myself again.
