Weissshorn
Celestial Portrait
About the work
Here, the Weisshorn is reborn from the fury of the winds. Exposing its Himalayan face to the sun. It rises victorious from a colossal storm, adorned in a crystalline drapery with a regal allure. Ode to the high mountains or celestial dance, its snowy corridors give rhythm to the painting. Sumptuous textures echo the ice flutes of the Andes. Snow abounds on this vertiginous face, with avalanches pouring down summit from the Weisshorn. Over the years, this accumulated snow is transformed into eternal ice.
I love the gentle contrasts that sublimate the Weisshorn, giving it an unrivalled presence in this work. I like to forget myself in this infinity, to lose myself for a few hours in the heart of these portraits. For a moment of grace, a breath of the absolute. And if I'm constantly creating new mountain photographs, it's to guide you into the heart of the Alps, to meet the Weisshorn and its brothers. To honor the high mountains with my art, and to help preserve the memory of the Alps.
