Zermatt Valley
Dreamlike Radiance
About the work
In the background of this grandiose panorama, the mountains stretch as far as the eye can see. To the left of the Matterhorn, the Mischabels massif reveals its summits : the Nadelgrat, the Dom, the Täschhorn, theAlphubel, theAllalinhorn, the Rimpfischhorn and the Strahlhorn. On the right, the Monte Rosa massif rises to the horizon, comprising the Nordend, Lyskamm, the famous Castor and Pollux and Breithorn. Dominating this incredible wall of rock and ice, over 4,000 metres high, is the Matterhorn. Alone in front of this chain of summits. Linked to the Dent d'HérensBut it needs no help to assert its grandeur. Watching over the Zermatt valley, it displays its beauty.
To take this photograph, I waited a long time for the storm to whiten the mountain. For a sea of clouds to spread over the valley of Zermatt, plunging the village into mist and revealing only the highest summits. Revealing the purity of the Matterhorn and the fascinating textures of its immaculate rocks. When you contemplate the work in large format, you will see so many abstract shapes and figures that it will bring you new discoveries every day. I created this painting at sunrise, facing the sun to reveal a different face of the Matterhorn. Shaped by contrasts Soft and light, the lord of the Valais invites us to discover the Alps. Lost in this rocky immensity, nothing connects us to the human world except the climb up the Klein Matterhorn. Our spirit is lost, only to be found again, rich in the magnificence of a wilderness we can't get enough of.
