The Zinalrothorn
About the work
Photograph of the Zinalrothorn.
The Zinalrothorn and its famous North Ridge emerge from the sea of fog during a clearing in the foehn effect storm.
This day nothing was won, the forecasts announced a clearing during the storm of foehn effect but generally in these meteorological configurations nothing is more certain than the uncertainty of the forecasts.
So it was with a lot of luck that I was able to capture this picture of the Zinalrothorn emerging from the sea of clouds.
The wind was still quite strong, the clouds were moving fast and the summit was playing hide and seek with me.
When suddenly thenorth ridge of the Zinalrothorn appeared for a few moments.
The summit was immaculate with fresh snow, it's quite rare that this summit at the border between the Val d'Anniviers and Zermatt is snowed in this way.
Usually the wind is too strong in the high mountains and the snow does not stay on the summits.
My quest is to seek out those fleeting moments during which several rare phenomena take place, in this case it is the snowy mountain and the summit emerging from the sea of clouds.
Despite the storm, the mood and emotion of the image is quite soft but powerful at the same time.
This mountain photograph will fit perfectly in any interior, I recommend a frame Prestance silver aluminum or a contemporary frame with this print.
