Zinalrothorn and Matterhorn
L'Écho des summits
About the work
In this early autumn, the light is changing. The sun takes up its winter quarters, plunging the north face of the mountains into shadow for several months. From now on, only the eastern side of summits will benefit from the comforting light. I captured this portrait of the mountain just after a storm. The snow-covered rocks are inaccessible to man for some time. The absolute splendor of a pristine natural setting that turns towards the sky.
I took this vertical photograph of the mountains as an search alignment. Perfect symmetry in the image of original beauty. The two mythical summits of the Imperial Crown stand one behind the other with infinite presence. We can only bow our heads in awe of such power and majesty. First snows gives the mountains an incomparable texture. I also love the contrasts between the Zinalrothorn and the Matterhorn. Black echoes white, shadow echoes light, darkness echoes flamboyance, like a call to life, intense and sublime, which makes our footsteps vibrate as we tread these summits.
