Zinalrothorn - Weisshorn
Au Fil des Arêtes
About the work
The mountain's south face invites adventure. On the left, the Rothorngrat soars between earth and sky, while on the right you can see its south-east ridge. If your steps lead you towards the normal route, from the Rothornhütte you'll reach the southeast ridge of the Zinalrothorn before crossing its south face to the couloir leading to the Gabel. From this distinctive gap, you'll tread the ridges of the Rothorngrat to reach the Zinalrothorn's summit .
I still have exceptional memories of this masterly run. Feeling the firm, compact rock of the Zinalrothorn beneath your feet. The gneiss ofArolla that gives the mountain its thousand-year-old strength. What incredible pleasure! Then, with a final effort, you'll reach summit and discover the monumental cross that marks its stature. Then you'll take a breath. Your gaze will lift and, from the farthest reaches of the Alps, the mountains will greet you. From summit on the Zinalrothorn, you'll contemplate a grandiose panorama.
At the dawn of this unforgettable and sublime journey, where you will evolve out of time and far from the realm of men, dream in peace. The sky is listening. The mountain awaits you.
