Dominating the Val d'Illiez and the Rhone valley, the Dents du Midi make their presence felt. Located in the Valais Chablais region, this mountain range stretches for three kilometers. In this photograph, the Haute Cime, the highest point of the Dents du Midi, is missing. Here, I pay homage to the Fortress and the Cathedral, majestic summits that stand in cold, striking splendor.

I took this masterly portrait when the raging winds had just covered these summits in fresh snow. A glittering adornment of ephemeral reflections that enhances the presence of these usually austere giants. The frosty mantle intensifies the icy, striking ambience of the high mountains. In this fairytale setting, every relief is adorned with ice and snow, offering delicate textures and subtle contrasts that catch our eye with irresistible force.

For ten years now, I've been waiting for those moments when fresh snow completely envelops the summits. On the lookout for alpine metamorphoses as soon as winter arrives. I wait tirelessly and watch for the slightest sign. These rare and precious moments require patience and determination to be captured in their fullness. This work inspires and moves me.
