A portrait of a mythical summit . The Matterhorn reveals itself in an atmosphere imbued with mystery and elegance, in a moment of intimacy between the clouds and the mountain. This iconic silhouette of the Valais Alps has long fascinated me, driving me to constantly explore new points of view, to seek the precise moment when the mountain reveals its deepest soul.

I captured this black and white photograph after a violent snowstorm. The Matterhorn slowly emerges from the clouds, like a sleeping giant awakened by the first rays of sunlight. The light cuts through the mist to sculpt each rock stratum with delicacy and finesse. It is in this fragile interplay between light and darkness that the beauty of this photograph lies. The surrounding clouds add a mystical, almost unreal dimension to the picture, creating a moving frame that perfectly highlights the Matterhorn's tapering ridge. The mountain seems to float, as if detached from terrestrial reality. This ephemeral encounter between the elements perfectly symbolizes the very essence of my artistic quest: to capture the elusive yet powerful soul of alpine summits .

I was lucky enough to climb the Matterhorn with my friend Vivian Bruchez. Every step on its thousand-year-old rock, every contact with its eternal ice, will remain engraved in my memory.
