How to keep a "little piece" of the mountain in your city apartment?

Written by Thomas Crauwels
Keep a little piece of the mountain in your apartment

It's no secret that nature, and more precisely the mountains, have that relaxing side that we always appreciate to find at home when we have a 100 hour city life.

While it is fairly easy to create a green space with plants and decorative objects, keeping a small piece of the mountain is a little more complicated.

In this article, I'll give you some tips on how to always have a little mountain space to get lost in.

Bring back a souvenir from a trip to the mountains

How better to preserve a small piece of the mountain than through a souvenir brought back directly from a stay on the spot?

There is no shortage of examples of souvenirs, if you have ever been to a ski resort, you have certainly had the embarrassment of choice between postcards, mugs, t-shirts and other "typical" objects such as the famous cowbell.

But if you have taken the time to lose yourself in the stores of local artisans, or in the markets, you have undoubtedly had the opportunity to appreciate the local art.

From a small piece of furniture made by a cabinetmaker to a painting by a local painter, there is no shortage of souvenir ideas when you take a close look at the crafts.

Display the picture of a small piece of mountain

Bringing back a mountain souvenir is a good idea, but in many cases there is an aesthetic problem.

Indeed, this object created with passion by a craftsman or an artist reveals all its charm in its original environment, but will detract from the more modern interior of your city apartment.

Buying on a whim an object you like will not be a success in all cases.

Rest assured, there are art objects that can be perfectly integrated into an urban interior. A painting, for example, depending on the frame chosen, will bring charm and warmth to your home while reminding you of the mountains you love so much.

Depending on your interior and your taste, you can choose a painting, a drawing or a photo for example.

No need to rush, you can visit exhibitions or choose your painting or photo online.

My advice in any case: don't hesitate to go by heart, it's the insurance to never get tired of your frame.

Opt for the realism of a beautiful mountain photo

What better way to escape than through the realism of a mountain photo taken by a professional photographer?

Of all the decorative objects you can install in your home to keep a little piece of the mountain, the photo is probably the one that will bring you the most comfort.

A mountain landscape immortalized by a professional photographer has this particularity to transmit an emotion.

It invites to relaxation and to let go and gives a feeling of well-being to the one who contemplates it.

On the other hand, the photo can blend into any decor, from the most rustic interior to the most modern and refined decoration.

Developed on an aluminum support and without frame, your mountain photo will be perfect in an interior contemporary.

Enhanced by a thick wooden frame , it fits perfectly in a cosy interior.

With a photo, all combinations are imaginable, because the picture itself fits into all styles of interiors.

Hung in large format, the photo captivates, bewitches and teleports you to a frame far from your daily life where calm and serenity reign.

Christelle's testimony: "The relaxation asset of my salon

Christelle lives in the heart of Lyon, where she leads a very active life.

Originally from a village in the Swiss Alps, she loves more than anything to return to her native mountains to recharge her batteries during extended weekends or vacations.

Plunged daily into a city in constant effervescence, she appreciates finding in her apartment a true haven of peace to relax.

To relax when I'm at home, I've created a comfortable living room space with a mountain and modern feel.

On one of the walls I have a large photo of summits of the Alps in which I escape to recharge my batteries.

Between two stays in my home village, it's really good to lose myself in this little piece of mountain that I've hung in my living room.

Christelle M.

If you want to make room for the mountains in your city apartment, a frame large format photo is the perfect solution.

You will be able to immerse yourself in it to feel a sensation of relaxation after an intense day.

This small piece of mountain will bring you a great comfort between two trips to the closest summits.
